Vyshyvanka "NAZAR" blue is a men's long-sleeve shirt in white cotton with blue and navy geometric embroidery on the collar, the front panel and the cuffs. It has a stand collar and a front opening with white tie cords and tassels, and in our photos it is worn untucked with light blue jeans.
What does the blue embroidery mean, and does the shirt look like a costume? Blue is a traditional colour for men's vyshyvankas, and it was traditionally believed to bring comfort and protect against illness. Here the embroidery is the only colour on an otherwise plain white shirt, so the look stays classic and easy to wear rather than costume-like.
What to wear it with. Light jeans are the simplest option, exactly as in the photos. For a smarter look, dark trousers work too, because apart from the embroidery the shirt is plain. It suits everyday wear, a family celebration, or a day such as Vyshyvanka Day or Ukrainian Independence Day.
Which size to choose. The shirt is available in S to 5XL. The size chart gives garment measurements in centimetres: width (A) runs from 98–100 cm in S to 136–138 cm in 5XL, and length (B) from 66 to 82 cm. For example, M is 102–104 cm wide and 70 cm long. Measurements can differ by about ±2 cm, so compare them with a shirt you already wear and like.
Fabric and care. The shirt is made of cotton, a natural, soft and breathable fabric. Wash it by hand or on a delicate machine cycle at low temperature, dry it in the air and iron it inside out or through a damp cloth to protect the embroidery.
